New concept item for ARC Raiders developed, designed, and completed by me over the course of a weekend. The Buzz Tether adds new gameplay options and strategies for raiders fighting ARC topside!
Concept Overview
The Buzz Tether is a throwable utility item designed for efficient elimination of small ARC units (Tick, Pop, Fireball, Wasp, Hornet, and Shredder). Upon deployment, its integrated magnetic system activates and locks onto the target's metallic frame. Once secured, the device delivers a concentrated electrical shock that temporarily incapacitates the ARC, allowing players to safely destroy the disabled enemy.
Players can retrieve the Buzz Tether from the wreckage and reuse it following a brief cooldown period. The magnetic lock-on has a limited effective range—throws beyond this distance will cause the device to fall inert, rewarding accuracy and tactical positioning.

Final Notes
Tools used for this project included Blender, Substance Painter, Figma, and PureRef/ARC Raiders for reference material. This was a very quick project and elements of the final product could be further refined, both in visual style and gameplay mechanics. The current model also clocks in at just under 5K triangles and could be optimized further to improve performance in-engine.
